How it all started...

I was born in 1978, a few months before the release of Jaws 2. However by about age 3 or 4, I knew what Jaws was - in a sense..

It started with the books. I have read both the Benchley and Searls novels over and over. My parents had a glass front book case in the house. I can still see in my mind that book case and the blue JAWS letters that stood out at me from the spine of the book.  The colors, the image of the shark - that today  is still my biggest obsession. My eyes can spot those 4 red or blue letters from a mile away. Let's just say this is where I became " hooked ".

By the time I was 5 years old Jaws 3D was releasing into theaters. I can remember small bits of the TV ads and movie trailers. What did me in was a summer trip to Sea World Ohio, not far from where we lived. Inside the park was a gigantic wooden standee of the movie poster, with the mouth cut out. Like those body builder ones you see in carnivals, etc. You could stand inside and have your photos taken. To this day, the most valuable and pricless piece of Jaws memorabilia for me is that photo, which has been lost. By 9 or 10 years old,  Jaws: The Revenge was set to release. I have memories of seeing that one in the theater. I had also by this time saw the other films numerous times on TV and VHS. I use to rent it religiously! Eventually taping it onto my VHS recorder while cutting out commercials!

Although my obsession with the films was set..the collecting didn't start till later.

I had all the VHS, DVD and film formats from years of watching it. I had collected a few items from some visits to Universal Orlando, and random things I would find. Over the years items were given to me as gifts. At the time, I packed it all away nicely and stored it away. Eventually I would move, and decided that I wanted to display everything, and live in my own museum! What started as a little shelf on my bookcase as a kid has taken over my whole house.

I am constantly walking around, looking and touching at all my little treasures. So I am very excited to share what I have with you!
